Running numerical simulations on supercomputers allows researchers to choose timescales and problem sizes to investigate phenomena which may be otherwise difficult to be studied by experiment. The FLUIDLABS group makes use of powerful computational tools such as the Lagrange supercomputer and leans on different numerical laboratories such as CINECA and CFDlab.
LAGRANGE
Cineca is a non profit Consortium, made up of 70 Italian universities, 4 Italian Research Institutions and the Italian Ministry of Education. It offers support to the public and private research activities of the scientific community through supercomputing and its applications. It has a computing environment with the maximum in available architectures and technologies and has very advanced hardware resources.
